Too Sexy, Too Soon!

So sexy, so soon. Not exactly music to the ears of this mom of little girls. But, this new book's authors, Diane Levin and Jean Kilbourne are symphonic. I heard Levin preview this book at last year's NAEYC conference in Chicago and she was compelling and passionate. Many of you have followed her work at the CCFC (Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood) and TRUCE (Teachers Resisting Unhealthy Children's Entertainment) or read her other publications, like "Remote Control Childhood? Combating the Hazards of Media Culture" and "Teaching Young Children in Violent Times". You'll be mesmerized and horrified and, I bet, moved to action, as is so often the result of her brilliance, when you read So Sexy So Soon: The New Sexualized Childhood and What Parents Can Do to Protect Their Kids. Catch the authors on the Today show, tomorrow.
